Experienced in all facets of                             court construction including asphalt, clay, urethane pads, lighting, fencing and accessories. We specialize in the design and construction of post-tension cable reinforced concrete courts which never crack. Our designs were perfected in the construction of the McMurry Park Tournament Center in Sulphur, Louisiana which was constructed on a federally designated "wetlands area". The center was subsequently granted the United States Tennis Association's, "National New Facility of the Year Award." All courts built by Courts-N-Stuff are built to the exact same specifications as the McMurry Park courts. Those specifications are available on this web site. There are currently approximately 200 courts that have been constructed per the above for Texas High Schools, State and Local government parks. If you do not see one close to you on the reference list please call for the closest to your location.

Specifications

Proposal Specifications: High use tennis courts on sites with expansive soils. It is intended that these proposal specifications be for a turnkey project and include all items necessary for the courts to be used for the purpose for which they were designed even though not specifically mentioned herein.

  • New courts shall be a minimum 5" thick, post-tensioned cable reinforced concrete slab on grade over a minimum 1 ft. of properly compacted select fill. Concrete shall be a minimum 3000 psi mix. Concrete shall be placed, screeded, consolidated and finished by use of a concrete pump placed outside the forms, a 60 ft. vibrating power screed, triple blade power trowels and with a light to medium broom finish. Each full court shall be a single plane and shall be sloped with 1" of fall in every 10' of run. Plane shall be true within 1/8" in 10' when measured from any point on the court in any direction. Post tensioned slab shall be 100% separate from the perimeter fence post and light pole foundations. All such perimeter foundations shall be in a concrete mow strip formed and poured after the post tension cables have been cut and shall be separated from the slab by a 1/2" expansion joint. No sealants or other materials that would restrict drying shall be used in the expansion joints. No variations to the above shall be allowed.

  • Surfacing shall be two color using the Plexipave System by California Products. Manufacturer's specifications shall be followed. A minimum of four texture coats shall be installed. No sharp or blasting sand shall be used in the finish coats (Unimen round or Plexipave Color Base only). Playing lines shall be textured to match the court surface (slow to medium).

  • Fence shall be 10' high with 3" schedule 40 posts all around at 10' on center and schedule 40 top, middle and bottom rail. Fence mesh shall be 1-3/4" nine gauge galvanized. 6' Sullivan windscreens on base line fences only. Douglas nets and posts or equal (as directed by owner) shall be used.

  • Contractor shall submit plans and specifications for the post-tensioned slab and fence post foundations properly sealed by a reputable foundation engineer licensed and registered in the State of Texas.

  • Lighting shall be by Tennis Optics and shall have a minimum of six 1000 watt metal halide luminaires per court. Each court shall be individually switched and timers shall be included. Electric service shall be provided by owner to a point within 5 ft. of the court battery.

  • Contractor shall warrant the project to be free of defects in material and/or workmanship for a period of five years from date of owner's acceptance. Warranty shall cover cracks in slab in excess of 2 mils wide and any spalling. Warranty shall cover chipping, lifting or bubbleing of the court surface as well as unusual or uneven fading of the colors.

  • The proposal includes the placement and compaction of a minimum 12 inches of select fill under the entire slab. No lime stabilization of either the base or sub-base material will be performed. These provisions shall be included in the sealed drawings referenced in paragraph #4 above.

  • Suggested budget:

    Four court battery (120' x 204') Lighted--$279,416.00

    Unlighted--$240,416.00

    Two court battery (108' x 120') Lighted--$135,746.00

    Unlighted--$99,708.00

    Plexiplave informaton

Rebuilding existing tracks can now                             be done with post-tensioned concrete rather than the standard remove, replace, rebuild and repeat method that has been the only option. Post tensioned overlays come in about 20% less than the old method and shold last 40 to 50 years rather than the normal 15 to 20 for asphalt.
